Our team of parent volunteers , the WSA (Wootton School Association), will be running our extremely popular WSA School Sweepstake to raise money for our wonderful primary school!
All you have to do is:
1. Log in to the Arbor app
2. Go to the school shop
3. Purchase a number (6 maximum - £12 per number)
4. Look out for our winning numbers being notified via email
How it works:
Our WSA School Sweep will run from Sept 2024 - Aug 2025, where you will be entered into a draw each month to win a CASH PRIZE! If your number is drawn, you win! The winners will be selected at random on the first Friday of the month, during assembly by a member of staff (usually our very own Mr Crilly!).
A maximum of 6 numbers can be purchased on Arbor and each number costs £12 for the year. Initially, there are 200 numbers available and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Winners will be notified in the school newsletter and via text message so please ensure your details are up to date on Arbor.
The closing date to purchase numbers is the 27th September 2024. Once the numbers have been sold we will announce the prize money and how many winners will be drawn each month. You will be notified by email your allocated numbers.
This fundraiser is open to parents, carers, family members, friends, WSA committee members and staff at the school.
We make our first draw on the first Friday of October (4th October) where we will draw both September’s and October's winning numbers.
If you do have any questions, please contact the school office on office@woottonprimaryschool.org.
Good luck to everyone and remember you have to be in it to win it!
The WSA
We are not able to authorise absence for any other reasons except in exceptional circumstances. We recognise the importance of children’s attendance at school because we strongly believe in the importance of education, and the link between regular attendance and raising children’s attainment. In order to achieve this we need to work in partnership with parents, having a shared responsibility in promoting and ensuring good attendance in school. As we begin a new school year we wanted to share some attendance and punctuality information with you and how important it is to your child's education.
Attendance Facts:
Attendance of 95% for the year equals 10 days that your child has been absent, that is 2 full school weeks of your child’s learning missed for that year.
Attendance of 90% for the year equals 20 days that your child has been absent, that is almost 4 school weeks missed.
Attendance of 85% for the year equals 30 days that your child has been absent per, that is almost 6 school weeks missed.
Attendance of 80% for the year equals 38 days absent per year that is over 7 school weeks missed.
Punctuality Matters
School starts at 8:55am and our gates are open from 8:40am. We would appreciate your help in ensuring your child is in school by this time.
Being frequently late for school adds up to lost learning:
Arriving 5 minutes late every day adds up to over 3 days lost each year.
Arriving 15 minutes late every day adds up to 2 weeks absence a year.
Arriving 30 minutes late every adds up to 19 days absence a year.
Things you can do to help your child achieve:
Ensure your child attends school EVERY DAY unless they are ill. Please click the link below to help you decide whether your child is too ill for school.
If your child is poorly, contact the school office as soon as possible on 01604 761679 giving the name of your child, their class and reason for their absence. Please contact the school EVERY DAY that your child will not be present.
Endeavor to give us as much notice as possible of medical appointments that are made during school time. Please provide evidence of these appointments to the school office on office@woottonprimaryschool.org. Routine dental and doctors appointments should be made outside of school hours.
Please ensure that your child is on time. Our school doors close promptly at 8:55am ready for learning. If you are late, please report to the school office giving a reason for your late arrival and sign in on our iPad.
Congratulations to the following pupils who have been elected House Captains for this term. The teachers have voted for the pupils that they think best represents the values that we want promoted at Wootton Primary School and who they think will provide good role models for other house members.
Well done to:
CB - Goldfinches
MG - Woodpeckers
FM - Robins
BH - Kingfishers
We are thrilled to announce that our school has been awarded the prestigious Healthy Schools Silver Award! This recognition is a testament to our commitment to promoting the health and well-being of our students, staff, and the wider community.
The Healthy Schools initiative emphasizes the importance of creating an environment that supports not only academic achievement but also physical, emotional, and social health. Our Silver Award reflects the numerous efforts we've undertaken to foster healthy lifestyles, including implementing programs that encourage healthy eating, regular physical activity, and mental wellness practices.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents who have played an integral role in this achievement. Your hard work and commitment to creating a healthier school environment have truly made a difference.
As we celebrate this accomplishment, we remain focused on our goal of achieving the Healthy Schools Gold Award in the future. We look forward to building on this success by continuing to implement innovative programs and initiatives that enhance the well-being of our entire school community.
Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. Together, we will continue to inspire healthy habits that extend beyond the classroom and into our students' daily lives!
We at Wootton Primary School are proud to be taking part in the Cif Re-Kicks Programme, partnering with The Northampton Town Community Trust and Cif, on a mission to reboot the beautiful game for thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and inspire on-pitch confidence through the restoration of used football boots.
Teaming up with England and Chelsea footballer Cole Palmer, we’re aiming to provide ‘free kicks’ to budding young players in Northamptonshire, helping them to feel pitch ready.
After conducting research with UK-wide sports charity Sported, Cif found that 97% of their community sports groups believe that their young players feel more confident playing sports when they have the right kit. However, a staggering 98% of group leaders agreed that the cost of new football boots is a cost-of-living challenge for their families.
Something needs to change. Using the power of our community, we will be collecting even the dirtiest of boots to be cleaned and re-distributed across the UK using Cif, ready for young football players ahead of the 2024/25 footy season.
Please join us in our mission and donate your used football boots to Wootton Primary School. Just come to the main office, where you will find a drop off point.
The WSA wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported events and activities last year. Your generosity helped to raise over £6,500 all of which goes back into our school, for the benefit of our children. Watch this space for events coming up this term.

Congratulations to TW on achieving his Grade 2 in Trombone! Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. Well done!
SW attended a competition at the Belfry at the beginning of August and placed first in his age category playing on the Brabazon course, which the masters is held on.
Due to his success with this competition, he was invited by Sir Nick Faldo to attend the British Masters junior pro-Am golf event along with 120 other young players. This was also a star studded day with celebrities playing golf along with the professionals. SW did amazingly well and placed fourth in his age category with an even par score, and to top it all off was 1 foot away from getting a hole in one. All the players received a goodie bag and also had a golfing clinic with Sir Nick Faldo after the competition. SW was also on TV the following day showing coverage from the event and managed to get a number of celebrity autographs, and got to see the Ryder Cup.
At Wootton Primary School, we know how challenging times can be for some people. We work hard to ensure that we support both our pupils and staff in their wellbeing. But we also want to ensure that you have the support and advice you may need at home. We have developed a section of our school website that can provide you with links to agencies and support networks.
We have links to charities and support if you are concerned about your child's well-being and we have links to support yourself as adults.
