NOTE: We are extending the deadline for the WSA Sweep until Monday 30th September. At present, we have not sold enough ball numbers for this sweepstake to be viable. If you would like to purchase a ball number to support our school charity, please ensure you purchase a ball via the Arbor app by the deadline of 30th September. We would love to keep running this and the funds will help to support the purchase items for our school children that would ordinarily be outside of our budget. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Our team of parent volunteers , the WSA (Wootton School Association), will be running our extremely popular WSA School Sweepstake to raise money for our wonderful primary school!
All you have to do is:
1. Log in to the Arbor app
2. Go to the school shop
3. Purchase a number (6 maximum - £12 per number)
4. Look out for our winning numbers being notified via email
How it works:
Our WSA School Sweep will run from Sept 2024 - Aug 2025, where you will be entered into a draw each month to win a CASH PRIZE! If your number is drawn, you win! The winners will be selected at random on the first Friday of the month, during assembly by a member of staff (usually our very own Mr Crilly!).
A maximum of 6 numbers can be purchased on Arbor and each number costs £12 for the year. Initially, there are 200 numbers available and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Winners will be notified in the school newsletter and via text message so please ensure your details are up to date on Arbor.
The closing date to purchase numbers is the 27th September 2024. Once the numbers have been sold we will announce the prize money and how many winners will be drawn each month. You will be notified by email your allocated numbers.
This fundraiser is open to parents, carers, family members, friends, WSA committee members and staff at the school.
We make our first draw on the first Friday of October (4th October) where we will draw both September’s and October's winning numbers.
If you do have any questions, please contact the school office on office@woottonprimaryschool.org.
Good luck to everyone and remember you have to be in it to win it!
The WSA
Each term this year, we will be running a competition for the children to take part in at home.
Our 'at home competitions' have been very successful in the past and we really enjoy seeing all of the lovely things the children are doing for their entries. From cooking to random acts of kindness, we love to see the joy our children are bringing into their families, community and the wider world through their participation.
This term we are running a 'Make Someone Happy' competition.
Children can choose to 'make someone happy' in any way they like. Ideas could include:
• Making a card or something special for a friend, neighbour or loved one
• Make someone's day by reading with them, playing a game, doing the washing up etc.
• Share your favourite jokes with someone
Please submit any photo evidence via email to the office.
Two winners will be chosen at random and each entry will be awarded two House Points with the randomly selected winner awarded five House Points.
The deadline for entries is Friday 18th October.
Don't miss this opportunity to discover all that Wootton Primary has to offer! For more information and to reserve your spot, please contact office@woottonprimaryschool.org or call us at 01604 761679. We can't wait to welcome you!
The YEAR 2 children are really looking forward to our Victorian School Day on Tuesday 1st October. Just a reminder that the children are being asked to come to school dressed as a Victorian child. Boys could wear black or grey shorts with a white shirt, while girls could wear a white blouse and a plain black or grey skirt. You can also find additional costume ideas on Amazon.
We wanted to remind parents/carers to please drive and park legally, safely and responsibly when dropping off and collecting your child/ren from school. We encourage parents/residents to report dangerous driving and parking using the below link.
Please THINK before you park.
Please THINK about pedestrians and those in wheelchairs or with pushchairs.
Please THINK about emergency services, your vehicle could be blocking their access.
Please refer to the Highway Code—Rules 238—252.
Offenders may receive penalty points and/or fine of up to £100.
Please report dangerous parking/driving to the non-emergency police number 101.
We are proud to introduce our dedicated Anti-Bullying Representatives for the school! These exceptional students have taken on the important role of promoting kindness, respect, and inclusivity within our environment. Their primary goal is to foster a safe and supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued and respected.
Together, they strive to create a culture of empathy and understanding, ensuring that no one feels alone. Join us in supporting our Anti-Bullying Reps to continue to make our school a welcoming and safe place for everyone!
How to sleep better
We all know that getting a good night's sleep is key to helping us stay both physically and mentally healthy. We all have times when we are worried or anxious about something, and this can affect how we sleep. This can then often make the situation and/or us feel worse.
The Mental Health Foundation is a UK charity that supports people to help improve their own mental health. They have a guide to helping us improve our quality of sleep, and offer some solutions if you are struggling to get to sleep. The link to their website is here, and it is well worth a read.
We will be joining thousands of schools across the UK and taking part in Hello Yellow in support of YoungMinds on Thursday 10 October (World Mental Health Day) where we’ll be holding a non-school uniform day and asking everyone to wear something yellow.
There are days when all of us struggle with how we are feeling. Things can get tough, and it can be difficult knowing how to cope. For so many young people, when this happens, they don’t always get the help they need, when they need it. They don’t know where to turn, who to talk to, or even if anyone else feels the same.
No young person should feel alone with their mental health. But together, we can change this.
To take part, students can wear yellow to school, and we’d like to ask parents and carers to consider donating to help YoungMinds keep fighting for young people’s mental health.
Our suggested donation is £2 which can be donated on Arbor under the school shop products section.
Because we stand brighter, together. Finally, YoungMinds have resources for parents and carers to find help and advice, if you’re ever concerned about a child or young person – you can find this on their website: Click here.
We are excited to announce that on Thursday, 3rd October, our caterers, Kingswood, will be providing a space-themed menu! Every child who orders a meal on this day will receive a special activity sheet to enjoy.
Please find the menu attached for your review.
Additionally, we would like to remind you that the deadline for meal orders for the upcoming week is Thursdays at 10am.
Thank you for your cooperation!
