More about
Camp 'Taboos' has been noted from early camps right up to present day. Here's an example of a 'camp taboo' checklist used until fairly recently, and a brief article in our archives from the 1930s.
How it became one of our 100 Objects
During a 100 Objects workshop a Pioneer from Hackney noticed it was 'Taboo' for Pioneers to use axes, which started a chat about safety in camp, where the taboos came from, and what differences there might be at camp now.
