Elocution test certificate 1970
‘I was a pretty shy young teenager. But you don't get much of a chance to be too shy in Woodcraft Folk. It's very good for that and it brought me out in many ways. The singing and drama festivals I went to you know, I discovered I had a talent for elocution, for example. I've won several prizes. So it did a lot for me in my early years. ‘

Barry contacted us during the project from his home in Perth, Australia, having followed Woodcraft Folk social media.
Note the 'Music and Drama Festival' was organised by Birmingham Co-operative Society Education Department at 'BCS Central Premises, which Barry recalls was at Birmingham and Midlands Institute.
Barry also sent some photos of his friends at Camp, where drama, music and dance were equally important.
