Over the course of the year, more objects were added to our original list at the Manchester exhibition. The exhibition helped remind us of more memories and stories better reflecting Woodcraft Folk in every District. We have grouped and listed all (more than!) 100 Objects below and hope it inspires many more happy memories and opportunities for the future.

Throughout the history of Woodcraft there has been a running debate between 'Anti-Fascists' and 'Pacificists'. World War Two, where conscientious objectors risked imprisonment was a moment when the debate was at it's height. Three objects, from different times in Woodcraft History mark out the debates happening.

Camp 'Taboos' has been noted from early camps right up to present day. Here's an example of a 'camp taboo' checklist used until fairly recently, and a brief article in our archives from the 1930s.
'Local camps we all cycled to with minimum packing to get on our bicycles, including food and cooking equipment. We used wood fires, aluminium tent poles and billy cans made by parents which were so light.

Presents given at International camps
One of three PVC all weather maps positioned near the library for each of the three camps for Camp 100. Along with the pocket maps, they were invaluable to find your way around in the first few days.

The banner was hand painted in Birmingham by Woodcraft Members in the 1950s (alongside George Holyoake) and has been a part of the Birmingham and Midlands Institute Collection for many years.

The item chosen for '100 Objects Spanning 100 Years' Exhibition' was a 'Helper' magazine dating from 1938 with a woodcut illustration on the front cover depicting Concentration camps already in existence, before the 'Death Camps' of World War Two.
Artist Ben Jones and Birmingham District worked together to create their own timechart and snapshot of their Woodcraft Folk.
