Patchwork tradition and practice is collaborative and lends itself to group work within Woodcraft Folk. There are many examples, some at Cudham, this one at UCL Special Collections made by Clapham district.
Patchwork is about the reuse of old clothing, textiles, and scraps, showing dedication to an environmentally sustainable, world rejecting of consumerism, and, of course, it is 'co-operative' in the making. Creating large banners allow members to work together to create a shared, collective artwork representing collective as well as individual representations.
It is not surprising to find handicraft and patchwork art across Woodcraft folk Districts and History.
A popular item seen during UCL Special Collections visits.
