More about
The red and green colour of the Woodcraft Folk is a visual representation of the movement's dual identity. Leslie Paul was influenced by Edward Carpenter. He advocated for a red-green philosophy - red for policital struggle and green for nature. This is echoed in the Woodcraft Creed, which begins: 'This shall be for a bond between us, that we are of one blood you and I.'
Our logo:
The Circle: Symbolizes equality and democracy (no one is "at the top")
The Two Trees: Represent young people and their connection to nature.
The Rising Sun: A carry-over from the movement's early utopian roots, symbolizing the "fashioning of a new world" based on social justice.
