Friendship bracelet created by Gabriel Warburton-Brown during 100 Objects launch event.
"I make friendship bracelets at all the camps."
Gabriel is a District Fellow from Newcastle who took part in activities at Camp 100, helped set up the exhibition at 1 Angel Square, Manchester and lead activities at the launch and activities 16th October 2025.
Bonds of friendship, symbolised through the exchange of gifts:
“Friends shall gladden each other with arms and garments."
Hávamál, a 10-century Norse poem.
Woven friendship bracelets of this kind may have originated in Central America Mayan culture, but who knows! They were also being woven at 100 Objects Spanning 100 Years Manchester and Glasgow Launch, 14th February 2026.
For every camp Gabe makes a bracelet for themselves and for her friends. Gabe gave me this friendship bracelet at the launch of 100 Objects spanning 100 years.
