How it became one of our 100 Objects
Martin Pover and Bill Bremner donated flags and banners and also helped demonstrate the tent while it was being photographed. One of Bill's flags is planned to become Birmingham Woodcraft flag:
'I think this would be a great idea to repair flag & use at camp! Not sure how the calico will work as flying flags are usually similar both sides - but presume you will have some artwork from the pioneers for that? I think this flag dates back to the 50’s so has quite a history - nice woodcraft was supporting the rainbow flag way back then! All I would ask is that perhaps somewhere it could say on it ‘previously Watersmeet (Newham) woodcraft'.
