You must register students currently enrolled in your district for Summer School in the Current environment. Students who are coming to your school district only for Summer School may be enrolled in the Summer environment.
Select: Registration > Entry & Reports > Student Demographic > Entry/Withdrawal.
Click on the New button in the Summer School section of the page and add the appropriate building and entry information.
The HOME CAMPUS should enter this information.
3. Select Registration > Entry & Reports > Student Demographic > Registration to assign the student to a counselor, primary or secondary homeroom, or house/team. This information should be entered by the summer school data entry clerk.
All Scheduling, Tagging, Attendance, Mark Reporting and Discipline information associated with Summer School must be created and maintained in the Summer environment.
Funding source:
1. Select Registration > Entry & Reports > Student Demographic > Programs > 201 District-defined tags to add funding source.
1. Select Student Center > Demographic > Transportation to add summer school transportation. Be sure to select ‘SUMMER’ from travel type dropdown. You need to fill out ‘Travel to’ and ‘Travel from.’
If you created a new Summer School building, add Room Information as needed. Make sure to check the Summer School box for Room Availability. [Technology copied this information from regular environment.]
Make sure the Staff members who will teach in Summer School are available by checking the Summer School box for Staff Availability. If you added a new building number, add a new building record for each staff member that will teach in the summer. The HOME CAMPUS should enter this information. De-select ‘regular school’ and select ‘summer school.’ Only one should be checked off.
Select the School Year in the upper right corner of your Home page or the Set Environment option from the menu.
Check the Summer School checkbox underneath the School Year box.
If needed, add Summer School courses to the Course Catalog. Select Scheduling > Courses > District Courses > District Course Catalog. Current year courses that have the Summer School checkbox selected will be available for Summer School processing. You may want to give your Summer School courses unique course codes to make sorting them on your transcript easier. [Technology copied core classes. Bilingual PK-KG program only: In REGULAR environment, select Registration > Entry & Reports > Student Demographic > Programs > PEIMS demographics > Bilingual ESL Summer Indicator. Enter the student’s enrollment date and click on the check box.

Closing Out Summer School Records
When Summer School is over, Year End Procedures must be run in the Summer Environment to close out the current Summer School.
Create Registration Criteria to close out the Summer School Entry/Withdrawal vectors. Select Administration > Utilities > Year End > Registration Rollover Criteria.
Run the Registration Rollover. Select Utilities > Year End > Registration Rollover.
If needed, you may run the Scheduling Rollover to clean out older data. You may wish to leave the data in the database until the students have been purged from your system.
