Sending TREx files is a two part process. The first part is creating the file in Sungard.
Select: Registration > Entry & Reports > Student > Student Summary
Step 1: After searching the student from the Student Summary Page, click the dropdown and select TREx Export.
Step 2: After clicking on the TREx Export button, you will get two files on your Tasks and Reports page, under he Tasks / Reports tab. One file is a log file and you can delete that one. The other is an xml file, that is the file that you want to save.
Step 3: To save the xml file, place your cursor over the file and right click on your mouse, a box will open and you need to choose Save Target As.
If you don't already have a TREx folder on your computer, you will need to create one in either your documents or on your desktop. Once you have your TREx folder, you will save the file in there. Highlight the folder and click on Open.
Step 4: Once the TREx folder is open, click on Save to save the file into that folder.
** Once you have the file saved into your TREx folder on your computer, that is all you need to do on Sungard. You can go back to the homepage and delete the xml file once you save it into the folder.
The second part to sending a TREx file is being able to log into the Texas Education Agency with a TEAL Account and sending the file through the Texas Records Exchange System (TREx).
For more information and guidance on TREx, you can access the TEA TREx Training website fir the User Training Materials.
