ELA/Science
- We have started a new unit on Government, American Heroes, and Economy this week. We've learned about the three branches of government and why we would want to have checks and balances. Ask your student what they know about the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branch.
- We are circling back to opinion writing at this point in the school year. We started our reengagement with students answering the prompt, In your opinion, what makes a hero? Ask your child what makes a hero to them!
Math

- We wrapped up our fractions unit this week by taking the end of unit assessment. Your child will be showing you how they did on this assessment at parent/teacher conferences.
- Our next unit in math will be telling time and measurement. Homework pages for this unit are going home with your child in their Friday Folder today.

Conference Week: Due to conferences next week, we will be on a minimum day schedule the whole week. Students will be dismissed at 1:30PM Monday-Friday. Please see the schedule below to see when your conference is.
Whole School Morning Meeting: Families are welcome to join us for our end of trimester whole school morning meeting on Wednesday, March 6th at 9:45AM-10:30AM! At the whole school morning meeting, we celebrate students and build community in the same way we do in class each day.
Spring Enrichment Classes: Our spring session of enrichment classes will start in mid-March. Click HERE to see a list of class offerings and to sign your student up. Remember, scholarships are available! Email live@westlakecharter.com with questions.
