Application Fees are the total sum of:
Vivino’s marketing fee
Stripe’s payment processing fee
Coupon and discount reimbursements
Where applicable, tax/VAT and shipping fees
Application Fees are applied to each order automatically in Stripe.
Important Note: Application Fees only apply to Stripe payments. Payments processed through PayPal will be settled by means of an invoice at the end of the month.
If an order is partially or fully refunded after funds have been captured, the Application Fee is recalculated, and the difference is automatically credited back to the merchant. Merchants can see the updated calculations within the Dashboard.
Monthly Order Report on the Account tab shows columns with Application Fee calculations.
Separate tabs for orders with Application Fees (“automatically invoiced”) and all other orders (“manually invoiced”) for easier management of automatically paid and manual invoices.
Automatically Invoiced: All Stripe orders placed with Application Fees applied
Manually Invoiced: All PayPal orders, Stripe orders with no Application Fees applied, and all Stripe orders where Vivino owes a credit to the merchant (due to large coupons/discounts)
Merchants will receive one or two marketplace invoices each month:
Orders that were automatically invoiced (invoice begins with “AI”)
Application Fees were already captured in Stripe, so this invoice is automatically marked “paid” and is for record keeping purposes - no additional funds owed to/from merchants
Orders that were manually invoiced
If the total invoice is positive (funds are owed to Vivino), the invoice amount will be charged to merchants’ cards per the normal process; if the total invoice is negative (funds are owed to the merchant), Vivino will issue a separate payment to the merchant’s Stripe account
Merchants not using PayPal may not have any orders that are manually invoiced
