How Vivino Commissions Are Calculated
How Vivino Commissions Are Calculated
Understanding how commissions are calculated helps you track your costs and earnings more clearly. This guide walks you through the basics of the commission model for Vivino Marketplace merchants.
For each qualifying order (marked as Shipped or Refunded), commissions are calculated as follows:
Commission = Commissionable GMV x Commission Rate
Where:
Commissionable GMV = (Number of Bottles x Unit Price) – Refunds (in period)
Commission Rate = The agreed percentage in your contract with Vivino
Bottle prices (excluding VAT or tax)
Orders in “Shipped” or “Refunded” status
Discounts and coupons that reduce the buyer's price (but are reimbursed to the merchant separately)
Shipping charges
VAT, tax, or duty fees
Orders still in “Created” or “Processing” status
Order Details:
6 bottles sold at €10 each
No refunds on this order
Commission rate = 15.5%
Commissionable GMV = 6 x €10 = €60
Commission = €60 x 0.155 = €9.30
Vivino will apply this charge as:
A line item on your monthly invoice (if PayPal or manual)
Part of the Application Fee deducted at time of shipping (if Stripe)
To verify how your commission was calculated:
Go to your Monthly Order Report in the Merchant Dashboard.
Look at:
Commissionable GMV
Commission Rate
Vivino Revenue (this is the total commission charged)
Refunds that happen after the order ships will be reflected in a later invoice.
If multiple refunds are issued, the "Refund Amount (in period)" will reflect the total.
Credit memos (for issues outside commissions) are sent via email and not reflected in GMV.
