How do I request a weather hold?
When the temperature in your area or the order destination is too hot or cold to safely ship wine, you can use the Request Weather Hold option on the Merchant Dashboard. This will allow you to hold the order while Vivino notifies the customer of the delay.
When you request a Weather Hold, you can set the expected shipping date as well as provide a note to the Vivino Team to add more context.
When a Weather Hold is approved by Vivino, the payment will be captured and the order will move to a holding status. Keep in mind that the customer may not want to wait until the weather improves, so this order can be cancelled.
Weather Holds can last up to two weeks. If you cannot ship to an area for a few months, please contact your Merchant Support team and we can update your account to reduce ship-to-states, add a buffer to the expected shipping timeline, or temporarily pause new incoming orders.

Click on <Cancel> at the Order Level.
Please note, you must CONFIRM the order first before requesting a weather hold. Confirming the order means that you are committed to fulfilling the order on the selected shipping date.
Select <Request Weather Hold>.
Add a note and select <Expected Shipping Date>.
Once you've selected the alternate shipping date, click <Request Weather Hold>. Vivino will update the order status to "holding" status on your dashboard. This will notify the customer that the order is on Hold and capture payment.
We will inform you if the customer requests to cancel the order or accepts the risk to ship order as is.
