I instructed general art classes for 6th-8th graders at Edison Middle School in Champaign, IL for a total of eight weeks. Each quarter, students rotated through different specials, introducing me to a new group of students alongside my co-operating teacher for a total of about 95 students. I planned different projects for each grade level, with the exception of a collaborative effort between 6th and 7th graders on contour line watercolor self-portraits. Other projects we did included agamagraphs for 6th graders, museum exhibition drawings using one-point perspective for 7th graders, and color wheel paintings for 8th graders. My co-operating teacher started off these first art projects with them, and I gradually transitioned into a co-teaching role, guiding students through project completion towards the end, and then starting new work afterwards with each grade.
