I instructed general art classes for grades Kindergarden through 5th at Bottenfield Elementary School in Champaign, IL for a total of eight weeks. All grades were on a three day rotation, except for 4th grade (four day rotation), introducing me to 450 new faces. I planned different projects for each grade level, with the exception of a collaborative effort between Kindergarten and 1st grade for painting. I taught students a range of materials, techniques, and artist inspirations. Students made artworks ike air dry clay superhero emblems, moving construction paper robots, air dry clay textured dragon eyes, kiln fired clay masks, and different kinds of painting projects! For lessons, I took inspiration from the last projects the students did with my co-operating teacher. Some lessons, however, are my own creations. Students were having their reward days when I started, and some grades were ready to start a new project the first few days I was at the school. My co-operating teacher was on her last workday or two on projects with most grades, so I gradually started to takeover and begin teaching.
