Students finally got to start painting their self-portraits in this lesson. Some painted over their expressive marks completely while some continued to add to their previous layers. I emphasized that expressive self-portraits are just as valid as representational/ facial portraits, and I had them go back to our brainstorming from Lesson 1 as well.
