At the University of Illinois at the Urbana-Champaign campus, I had the incredible opportunity of co-facilitating and co-teaching a summer art camp, alongside one of my art education peers, Katherine Beyer. The Curtis C. Nash Summer Art School for Children is a series of art classes created by Art Education program undergraduate and graduate students. Classes are catered to families in the Champaign and Vermillion counties, and offer unique art-centered learning experiences! Check out our calendar of projects below!

For the summer of 2023, we taught about 15 students for our two-week camp, ranging from rising kindergarteners to rising second graders. Our big idea was nature and sustainable art-making. Students made new friends, had lots of story time outside, and most of all, made such beautiful artwork they were proud of!
