student teaching

During my final semester at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I student taught at both primary and secondary school placements as part of the K-12 art education degree program. I spent my days at Edison Middle School and Bottenfield Elementary School, located near the university campus in Champaign. At both schools, I learned a multitude of things every hour that I spent with the children. Of course, there was an intense amount of work, prep, planning, revising, reflecting, as well as so much more behind the scenes that went into inspiring these kids to want to make. I am forever grateful for these experiences, though, and I feel more enriched than ever about what it means to be an educator.
