Any company has one or more organizational levels, from top management to work floor.
But, the real work always takes place on the work floor. And that work happens in processes.
The most simple structure of a process is: input --> action --> output.
Any process aims to deliver a product, let us call it a 'deliverable', that is produced by transforming data and/or raw materials (inputs) into the requested product / deliverable (output). In the digital world, inputs and outputs can also be virtual.
Statement: any process aims to deliver value, added value for the customer and the company.
Any value chain should be customer-centric. The customer may be internal or external.
