"Dollar Beauty"
In "Dollar Beauty", I practiced working with two point perspective. One of the vanishing points was placed near the center of the page, while the other was off page on the left. With a graphite pencil, I started with drawing the buildings by starting with the vertical lines, then drawing orthogonals to the correct vanishing points. The windows, fence, area where the grass is, and the road were all orthogonals. After I finished sketching and doing any restatements, I switched to alcohol markers to color in the sketches. For the brown building on the left, I layered brown and blue together to create the darker face of the building. For the sidewalk, I added gray to a peach color to get a color similar to tan. Once I was done with the coloring, I used a black ink pen to outline parts of the sidewalk add texture to the grass, and to outline the lamp poles. I also used a black marker and added a line with more weight to outline the lamp poles.
