observation tree

This is a drawing of a tree in my backyard. I blocked out the general shape of the trunk, then shaded in a range of values multiple times to create the texture on the trunk. The leaves had a similar process. I shaded in a very light value for the background. For the area around the base of the trunk, I shaded multiple repeating shapes to create the texture of the leaves and mulch.
