The volume and visual weight sculpture was made from Plaster de Paris being poured into Goldfish cartons and then being smoothed out with sandpaper. I used a loop tool to remove the box texture from the cubes, and a ribbon tool to soften the edges of the white cube to give it a more lightweight feel. The surface treatment for the bottom cube is dark brown, red, and some silver spray paint, with part of it peeled off. I wanted to show age with the surface treatment and chose darker colors to make it appear heavier.
