"Hiding Inside"

For this still life, I chose the prompt "Hiding Inside" before setting up the still life. On the left, I filled an empty can that had chocolate wafers in it initially, and then filled it with peanuts before tipping it over. I placed an empty bag behind the can before filling it with some clothing. The cat cup on the left had a perfume bottle in it. There is also a mirror that, when opened, turns into a brush. I also included another box with some toys and decorations inside.

I started by blocking in the general shapes of the items and doing any restatements I needed to get the placement of them right. I started working on edgefinding to better define the objects,. I added a midtone over the whole page before adding more layers of graphite to build up the values, especially for the darker shadows.
