still life 01

This work is the first still life done in this class. The main challenge of this piece was first setting up its composition so that it was scaled properly. Afterwards, I started defining the edges of each item in the still life. I shaded over the majority of the work with a light mid-tone, then began to darken certain areas in order to give each item the illusion of form. Some areas, such as the vase and the egg had cast shadows added for extra contrast.
