Training Requirements

The following Online and Hands-on Training Requirements must be met to be allowed to work with CYANIDES:

Online Requirements

• School of Chemistry modules:

  • 1. Haz Chem 4.0 - Toxic and health hazards overview

    2. Haz Chem 4.1 - Working with cyanides

Hands-on Training Requirements

• You must receive hands-on training from an authorised Trainer (generally academic staff, post-docs or senior group members, or technical staff)

  • • Review the list of School of Chemistry Current Trainers to contact a suitable trainer (zID/zPass login)

    • If a suitable trainer cannot be found, please contact chemistryoperations@unsw.edu.au 

• Hands-on training must be submitted by the Trainer using the School of Chemistry Training Record Submission Form

  • • Please attach additional files to the training submission as appropriate:

      • • Group-specific SWPs/RMFs for the use of cyanides

        • Reagent-specific or activity specific SWPs

        • Hands-on training checklist

        • Any other documents needed to capture the training covered

• Attendees will need to 'Approve' the training submission
