Lab Skills 3.2

To complete this module, you must complete the Faculty of Science Fume Cupboard Moodle course (HSEFCS), read and declare as read the required SWPs listed below, and pass the appropriate quiz below with a score of 85% or better.

This module includes the following required SWPs, which should be declared as read in the quizzes, and the Faculty of Science fume cupboard course on Moodle: 

1. Complete the Faculty of Science Moodle course: HSEFCS (also known as the UNSW Fume Cupboards Course)

   1. See below for instructions to enroll in the course.

   2. When you've successfully completed the course, please email a PDF copy of your certificate to chemistryoperations@unsw.edu.au

2. Read the required SWPs

   1. SCI-CHEMSCI-SWP-7079 - Balances and fume cupboards

   2. SCI-CHEMSCI-SWP-7416 - Safe use of Waldner fume cupboards in Hilmer (E10)

   3. SCI-CHEMSCI-SWP-6922 - Use of electronic balances

   4. SCI-CHEMSCI-SWP-5676 - Weighing of highly toxic, and volatile hazardous chemicals

 To enroll in the Faculty of Science Fume Cupboard Course:

Instructions for students (staff can follow these as well) - Student Enrollments in myUNSW

• • NOTE: If you are having difficulty enrolling in the course, or if you have enrolled but it isn't showing up in your Moodle course list, please email HSETraining@unsw.edu.au for assistance.

1. Log in to myUNSW using your zID and zPass

2. Navigate to 'My Profile\Learning and Development\Request Training Enrolment'

3. Search by Course Number for: HSEFCS

4. Select 'View Available Sessions'

5. Click on the Session number (should be '0001')

6. Submit your enrollment request and allow 24 hours for the course to be visible in your Moodle dashboard

7. Sign into Moodle and navigate to your 'Dashboard'.

8. You should be able to select the Fume Cupboard Course from the 'Courses' tab and complete the course.
