This page is for students who wish to attend UH for their undergraduate career, and hope to attend Law School after graduating from undergrad.
No. However, most "Pre-Law" students major in Political Science.
Yes.
Students have access to a list of courses that are offered at UH and are recommended for students interested in attending Law School.
Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisors who can help provide guidance regarding courses as well.
UH has a Law School on campus that can serve as a resource for "Pre-Law" students
Kind of. The Honors College houses a minor called Phronêsis. It is an Honors Program in Politics and Ethics that aims to cultivate practical intelligence. Students in this program develop their capacities to engage difficult moral and political issues confronting our world today. Phronêsis expands the career options of all the students in the program, who go on to pursue graduate study, congressional positions, human rights work, the study of constitutional and international law, and much more.
The Department of Political Science has a Pre-Law Adviser-- Professor Jerry Jackson-- who will attempt to answer all your questions about considering, applying to, and being successful in Law School. He will attempt to answer your questions either by email or in person. Please email him for an appointment.
