New Student Orientation

Freshman Orientation:

What will you be doing?

At your Freshman Orientation, you will gain more insight into what it means to be a student here at the University of Houston. This is an orientation that is specifically designed for new college students. During this time, you'll be mingling with your future classmates, meet your academic adviser and registering for classes! Although this program is mandatory for all incoming students, you'll have lots of fun!

Freshman are required to stay overnight on campus*

How much does it cost?

Price for students: $150

Price for additional adult family & guests: $60

What To Bring:

• Government-issued photo ID

• Final transcripts from your high school and/or former college(s) if you haven't submitted them to UH already

• Casual clothes, including comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes

• Water bottle

• Umbrella or raincoat

• Towels and toiletries for an overnight stay*

• A jacket or sweater (some meeting rooms will be chilly)

• Twin linens, blanket, and pillows for an overnight stay*

Transfer Orientation:

What will you be doing?

At your Transfer Orientation, you will get more information about what the University of Houston is all about. This program will consist of learning more about life on campus, meeting with your academic adviser and registering for classes. Although this program is mandatory for all incoming students, you'll have lots of fun!

How much does it cost?

Price for students: $75

Price for additional adult family & guests: $40

VIRTUAL ORIENTATION:

• Hear about various student support services we have on campus

• Schedule a time to meet with your academic advisor

• Feel confident that you're ready for your first day at UH

Fees:

The fee for Virtual Orientation is $60 and includes access to the online orientation modules, academic advising and course registration assistance, subscription to the New Coog Transition Series and much more.

We DON'T offer fee waivers for Orientation; however, qualified students can request a Fee Deferment. Fee Deferments must be arranged prior or at the time of registering for your Orientation date. You can request a fee deferment on NSO websites.

Orientation fees are non-refundable. There are additional fees/services for family & guests that are interested in attended sessions.
