The SBPs are aimed in helping incoming COOGS transition from HS to the university setting.
The program proves students with scholarships of $1125 per semester to 40 full-time (12 hours) that are first-generation students.
Las Comadres is a mentoring program that focuses in helping first generation Latinas by pairing them current UH Latina faculty members that guide them through the college experience.
BEST is a two-semester independent and interdisciplinary learning experience open to black students for graduate school, professional careers, and promote learning. The students get connected to summer internships, UH faculty mentorship, and semester stipends.
UEP supports undocumented students on campus by hosting the Dream.US scholarhship that helps DACA & TPS students receive funds for school, UEP scholarship assistance, career counseling, and other services.

This scholarship is for coming freshmen at the University of Houston who graduated from any high school in Hidalgo County, Texas.
Students can renew up to four years with a maximum amount of $16,000.
Students need maintain a 2.75 GPA, full-time enrollment, and remain Pell Grant-eligible
The G-Force Work-Study Mentorship Program aims in promoting higher education to local area high school students as well as help with retention for current UH students.
The Urban Experience Program is an umbrella program that strives to help students overcome obstacles in their academic careers at the UH. It ranges from the major programs to a place where students can go and receive tutoring.
