This is where students apply to the University of Houston for an undergraduate education as a "Pre-Nursing" major (just like a "Pre-Business" or "Pre-Psychology" major would). Once accepted to UH, "Pre-Nursing" students will have to complete courses (takes ~2 years), fill out an application, and apply to go from "Pre-Nursing" to "Nursing Major". Below you will find the exact process that students will go through. This is the "Nursing Major for undergrads option".
UH Main Campus - this is where they will complete required coursework to be eligible to apply to be a "Nursing Major"

UH Katy - this is where they will gain their nursing training to become a Registered Nurse (RN)
The Second Degree BSN track is offered face-to-face at the University of Houston at Sugar Land. Admission to this fast track is every Spring semester. It is twelve-months long, intensive and full-time for people holding bachelor’s or master’s degrees in other fields who want to become registered nurses (RNs). This accelerated track is designed to facilitate a career change for the more mature and experienced student.
People who already have a bachelor's degree or a master's degree in a different field of study and would like to return to undergraduate coursework to complete a degree towards becomin a Registered Nurse (RN).
The application deadline is August 15th as they only enroll students for the Spring semester. They do NOT open admissions for entry in the Fall semester.
Complete the NursingCAS online application for undergraduate admission (takes 4-6 weeks for application to be processed)
All Official Transcripts must be sent to the College of Nursing (note: a GPA of 3.0 is required to be eligible for the program)
Complete the TEAS VI nursing entrance exam and send scores to the College of Nursing
Complete a form from the College of Nursing (on their website)
The RN to BSN track is offered at the University of Houston at Sugar Land, University of Houston at Katy, and face-to-face/web-enhanced classes or hybrid/online. The track is designed to work around your busy schedule. You’ll receive a Tier One university education from excellent faculty at a great value. Lab and/or clinical course requirements will be in a face-to-face learning environment for practice and demonstration to meet course objectives and accreditation requirements. Our innovative RN to BSN program will allow you to advance your career by completing your BSN degree. Finish the program in as little as a year.
