Rapducken
Rapduckens are large Flightless Blish descendants of the Cock of the Flock found across the forests of the east coast.
The size of an Oviraptor they're much better suited for jumping and climbing over logs and other debris their bodies are held in a more horizontal bird-like posture with the 5th limb held aloft for balance and rarely used in walking.
Like other flightless Blish males take part in parental care as they can’t nest above ground like their volant relatives. In their case, males control a large harem of females that they will guard throughout the breeding season.
In spring males will congrats in wooded areas to court females fanning their tales and singing with inflatable throat pouches.
These colonies can reach thousands of members with males patrolling a specific portion of it with such colonies providing protection from predatory Terra Squid or egg
stealing Squid Rodents.
Such colonies also attract sexual mimics males who never develop the eyebrow tufts, throat pouches, or bushy tails and attempt to mate by avoiding the resident male.
Off course even without the secondary sexual characteristics they still have the red and orange markings and will be aggressively kicked (literally) out. As such these mimic males are very rare among the population with only around a 1/200 rate.
