Tyrant Pteagle

Raptorial Blish (clade-Ichthyrapotora), the most basal Ichthyopterans, have found great success as the top aerial predators in every environment ranging from the size of a falcon to that of the extinct pterosaur Tropeognathus.

Most species with the longest wingspans are giant scavengers, one raptorial species stands out.

The Tyrant Pteagle, a descendant of the Cryptoland Islands Eagle Blish, is the largest predatory Blish with a wingspan of 25 feet and weighing 150 pounds, they are the heaviest flying Ichthyopterans.

Expectedly, such a large flying predator has a very specific lifestyle.

While not confined to a single island like their ancestor they are exclusive to high cliffs around coastlines that make their take offs easier.

They hunt over open water, the thermals of waves helping them with their weight generally soaring close to the waves like an Albatross.

Almost their entire diet is composed of large Seabird Blish that they hunt by driving them towards the ocean and breaking their vertebrae with strong talons.

Depending on the prey size it may be carried back to shore or simply eaten on the surface of the water.

They face no competition in the air with only some of their larger kills being stolen by large sharks and fish.
