Artists work with writers to support positive social change though a collective action exhibit. These artworks incorporate the “Peace Symbol” to reenergize and deploy icons of peace in everyday spaces and bring awareness to the struggles peoples have endured to achieve peace through persistent nonviolent action.

Gerald Holtom (1914-1985) British artist and designer of the "peace sign". In 1958, Holtom created the peace symbol as the logo for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). The design is a combination of the letters "N" and "D" of the flag semaphore alphabet, standing for nuclear disarmament.

In a world rife with unrest, it is important to understand the history behind the conflicts and struggles peoples have endured to achieve peace through persistent nonviolent action.
