Ada Pasternak is a chameleon—both musically and stylistically. Graduating from prestigious Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship, Ada’s smoldering interpretations of jazz and pop belie her roots as a Russian-born child prodigy and classical violinist. In addition to being a world class violinist, Ada’s true passions are songwriting and singing. Her own, hit-bound compositions range from raw funk to poignantly eloquent soliloquies. Ada disarms her audiences with her casual, ukulele-esque strumming one moment, only to amaze them with her extraordinary command of her instrument, the next—not to mention her delicate, yet powerful lyrics and vocal stylings—and the musicianship of her accompanying collaborators. She is in CT for a short time in October . . .and may be back again. Check out her CT dates and venues on her website AdaMusic.com
Without a definitive genre to reference or an established scene to rally behind them, they are something of a rogue wave in an ocean of bands. Home base is in Bridgeport but they’ve built a fan base the old-fashioned way: driving around the country in a big, white Ford Econoline van and winning over crowds with solid, catchy songs and an explosive live show. Since their genesis in 2004, co-founders Tim Warren (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Eric Donnelly (lead guitar) have taken their group through the dizzying heights and frustrating lows of the modern music industry.
