Still Lifes - Oil Painting

Artist Statement

Combining everyday objects into a still life is the perfect jumping off point for my paintings.

Some are common: a wine bottle, a bunch of grapes. Others more esoteric. Most times, I have no sentimental connection, nor do they have symbolism for me. But with the addition of light, or changing relative positions of the objects, for example, a still life can become more dream-like, or highly energized. Complex interactions between shapes & colors emerge.
