Name of Call: TTUHSC Lubbock Education, Research & Technology Building - INTERIOR Art

The Texas Tech University System seeks to commission a professional artist to create a site-specific interior installation to be placed in the lobby of the new Lubbock Education, Research, and Technology Facility, located at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center campus in Lubbock, TX. Construction of the new facility will be completed by summer of 2019.

Name of Call: Veterans Community Living Center, Homelake: Request for Images, CO

Eligibility: State: CO

Budget: $33,500

Colorado Creative Industries seeks to acquire public art through direct purchase of existing artwork – original artworks that have already been completed - for the Colorado Department of Human Services’ Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake (VCLC) in Monte Vista, Colorado. The amount of funding available for artwork is $33,500. This VCLC is looking to acquire more than one artwork and artworks under, and up to, $5,000 will be considered. This opportunity is open to Colorado artists only. Funding for this project is provided by the state of Colorado’s Art in Public Places Program. The deadline for applications for this project is Wednesday, November 8, 2017.

Name of Call: City of Alameda Request for Proposals for Physical Public Art, CA

Eligibility: Unlimited

Budget: $262,500

The City of Alameda would like to invite artists and/or artist teams to submit their proposals to create physical public art in the Alameda community. These services would be provided through an award from the City of Alameda, and will be funded through the Alameda Public Art fund.

The Public Art Commission is seeking to fund artwork of different scales and lifetimes, in a wide variety of locations within the City. This RFP therefore includes five different award levels up to the following amounts:

One $150,000 award One $50,000 award Two $25,000 awards One $12,500 award

The objective of the City of Alameda, in issuing this RFP, is to identify qualified artists and/or artist teams that have the ability to provide art in public places in Alameda. Public art should result in broad community benefit by enhancing the city’s image and sense of place, contributing to economic vitality, and improving the community’s exposure to arts.

Name of Call: Sculpture on Sample/ArtWalk, Coral Springs, FL

Eligibility: Unlimited

Budget: $2,000

Deadline: 10/31/17

Each Submission will be judged as a whole. The image of the artwork you submit in your application is the artwork you are proposing for the project.

Public Art Project Description

Sample Road and the NW 31st Court ArtWalk are outdoor venues to display public art for the City of Coral Springs. Along the 1 mile of roadway on Sample Road and the 1600 linear-foot ArtWalk on NW 31st Court, up to eleven (11) sculptures will be temporarily displayed. A flyer along with social media, press releases and local press will be completed on the artworks and artists selected. The city holds festivals throughout the year on the ArtWalk; the sculptures involved with this program will be featured during these events. Of the artworks on display, the Public Art Committee, with input from residents of the city, will select one or more pieces of artwork to purchase for their permanent public art collection.

Already Existing Artwork

Artists should submit pre-existing artworks for purchase. The City of Coral Springs will only purchase unique works of art, unless the series itself has a conceptual basis.

The Rhode Island Watercolor Society (RIWS) is pleased to host our 122 National Watermedia Competition. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society is proud to support watercolor and other traditional water media materials and methods. This year, we are incredibly excited to offer over $5,000 in awards with 1st prize taking home $1,500.

The Rhode Island Watercolor Society resides in the scenic Slater Memorial Park, making it one of Pawtucket’s greatest and most beautiful destinations. The Juror will select approximately 60 pieces to be shown in our Main Gallery, Library Gallery and Classroom Gallery. Prizes will be awarded at the opening reception on Saturday October 14th from 4-6pm. The gallery is free and open to the public. We welcome artists from anywhere in the United States to apply to our 122nd National Watermedia Competition.

New Hope Art Gallery at the Cranston Senior Center in RI.

Care (Give and Take)

Deadline: September 1, 2017

If you are a visual artist making work about Alzheimer's disease and/or dementia, please submit work for a juried exhibition occurringNovember 2017- March 2018 at the New Hope Art Gallery at the Cranston Senior Center in Rhode Island.

What makes this exhibition special is that your work will be paired with work from your loved one with the disease (alive or deceased). Your entry will consist of three images of your work and up to three of your loved one's work. If no artwork is available, a photograph, letter or other ephemera will suffice. Selected work will be based on artist merit and strength of the pairing.

The exhibition will also include artwork made from seniors in the memory care unit at the Senior Center.

What to submit:

· Up to three jpgs of work sized 1024 pixels on the LONGEST edge.

· Label your images firstname-lastname-01.jpg

· Include a list in a word doc or PDF detailing the size, media and year created

· For the work of your loved one, please label the images with YOUR firstname-lastname-family-01.jpg.

· Be sure to include the information about the family member/loved one's nameand details about work submitted in the list.

· There is a $15 submission fee paid via paypal to cover exhibition expenses. Entries will be emailed.

Please note that the work is NOT insured while in the gallery space. While we do our best to care for the work, it is in a public space.

If you are submitting time based media, please be aware that you will be responsible for all equipment to show your work.

The date of the opening reception will be announced in a future email.

You are responsible for the delivery (to and from) the gallery. Our staff will install and de-install the exhibit.

Notifications will be made by October 20th.

All work must be read to hang/ present.

ARTIST Fellowships - A Blade of Grass

We are looking at the process and relationships of socially engaged art projects. We support individual artists and collectives who are working in leadership roles and in partnership with communities, in ways that are relevant in everyday life, at ambitious scale, to enact social change.

The first round of our open call requires you to submit the following:

  • A 500-word letter of intent that describes your project
  • A url to a website that showcases your project or body of work
  • A CV (or multiple CV’s if applying as a collective)
  • An informational diagram that describes your stakeholder network and/or project participation

CT Women Artists - Call for Entry

Eligibility- This show is open to all women artists of the USA. Original work in painting, mixed media, drawing, collage, printmaking, fiber art, photography, sculpture. Photomechanical reproductions of original work (giclée prints) are not eligible. Three images per artist will be accepted.

The Annual Art Ability Exhibition and Sale at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital is open to artists with physical, cognitive, visual and/or hearing disabilities.

To Participate - Eligible artists should submit materials in digital format through the CaFE™ website at www.callforentry.org (search Art Ability). Artists will follow CaFE™ instructions to create a profile and then apply to Art Ability.

The preferred method of submission is online via CaFE™. Please contact the Art Ability office if you do not have access to a computer or need special assistance.

Eligible Media - Works on paper, works on canvas or board, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry and fine crafts accepted. All pieces must be available for sale and ready for display.

Finishing - All two-dimensional works must be framed; including wrap-around canvas and photographs on metal or foam.


Jury and Award Process - Distinguished members of the greater Philadelphia arts community award prizes for artistic merit. More than $7,000 in prizes will be awarded.

Exhibition and Sale - The exhibit officially opens with a Preview Reception on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Art Ability will be on display through January 28, 2018, at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, PA.
