Betasso Preserve

Betasso Preserve is an 1,151-acre preserve managed by Boulder County. The preserve protects an area of the foothills where the grasslands meet the mountains and is home to a diverse landscape. There are about 10 miles of trails in the park, some of which are open to mountain biking on certain days of the week.

Trails:

Benjamin Loop:

Benjamin Loop is a 2.5-mile loop in the northern part of the preserve. The Loop Link provides a connection from Canyon Loop.

Canyon Loop:

Canyon Loop is a 3-mile loop starting from the main parking area. About half-way through, Loop Link makes a connection to Benjamin Loop. Near the southeastern end of the loop is a scenic overlook with views of Boulder.

Wildlife:

Dotted gayfeather (Liatris punctata )

I saw this white mantis along the trail, not sure exactly what it is, but it was very well camouflaged.
