Unit Description

Year 9 Maths in Motion is about exploring how mathematics underpins almost everything we do, from managing our money to understanding the world around us. This subject is designed for Year 9 students seeking a slower pace and greater support to build a strong, confident foundation in essential mathematical skills. We'll focus on how mathematical concepts are vital in everyday life and various careers, including retail, construction and finance. You'll learn to break down problems, and find logical solutions, equipping you with critical skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We'll provide extra time and support to ensure you grasp core concepts, helping you to confidently progress into Year 10 Numeracy. Our areas of study include: Financial Maths, Pythagoras’ Theorem and Trigonometry, Number skills, Algebra, Probability, Measurement, and Statistics.
