The Global Health elective aims to develop and build on students' understanding of health issues on a global scale, focusing on sustainability, global health trends, the role of organizations like UN, WHO, and NGO’s. Students will develop an understanding of the HDI index, low and high income countries.
Global health will explore international health issues, including access to clean water, poverty and climate change, and provide students with knowledge and skills to increase their understanding of global health. Students will explore factors that contribute to health inequalities, including the physical, social and economic conditions in which people live.
Students will learn to use data to investigate different countries' health status and human development. This course involves evaluating the effectiveness of health initiatives and considering how individuals can contribute to global health efforts.
