Design your own fabrics and turn them into usable products! In this elective you will experiment with a range of textile design techniques such as tie dying, screen printing, weaving, plastic fusing and machine embroidery. You will decorate and embellish your own fabric in your own style and use the sewing machine to turn it into a useful product such as a makeup case, tote bag or pencil case. This course challenges you to identify needs and design innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing textile-based products. You'll gain valuable skills in creative problem-solving as you bring your ideas to life.
