Feared by his enemies and revered by many of his own people, Sir William stands as the ruthless emperor of the Lava Monsters. His reign is one built upon absolute control, strength and a deep belief that he alone knows what is necessary to secure his people's future. To some, William is a tyrant who rules through fear and violence. To others, he is a hero, a powerful leader who brought stability and strength to the Lava Monsters through fire and blood. In his eyes, power demands sacrifice and those unwilling to make difficult decisions simply do not understand what leadership requires. In private, he can show a tenderness rarely witnessed by the outside world, particularly toward his partner, Gwen. It is perhaps one of the few places where the weight of his position seems to lessen. His relationship with his son, John, is far more complicated. Whatever love William may hold for him has become buried beneath disappointment and the crushing expectations of legacy. John represents everything William believes should continue after him and his refusal to follow the path laid before him is something William struggles to forgive.
