Eddie is a curious and reckless child with an unusual relationship with fire. Due to a rare condition, he cannot feel burns, meaning heat that would be painful to others barely registers to him. What began as a fascination with small flames quickly grew into a dangerous hobby, as Eddie became increasingly confident experimenting with fire and more powerful equipment. His father isn't nearly as enthusiastic about Eddie's obsession, particularly after losing his wife and watching his son grow increasingly attached to the flames that seem to fill the space she left behind.
