MS Pleichach-Kürnachtal
Our school is located in Unterpleichfeld in Germany (Franconia). There are about 200 students and 15 teachers. It is a middle school and students (10 to 16 years old) attend compulsory education. They can do the secondary school qualification in year 9 or a higher-level high school diploma in year 10.
In addition, the school offers both a normal class and a full-time class in grades 5 and 6. In the all-day class compulsory lessons are distributed in the morning and afternoon. Over the course of the day lessons alternate with practice, study time, sports and arts. The profile of our school is based on the guiding principle "School for Life". Therefore, the school puts the teaching of the following educational goals at the center of its work: Responsibility - Learning and willingness to perform - Independence – Empathy - Concentration - Creativity - Reliability - Communication and teamwork - Cooperation - Thinking in contexts through interdisciplinary learning. Another central task is the teaching of practical skills and abilities. These competences are important because most students do vocational training. Only a few attend secondary school and study. Therefore, our school itself offers practical lessons, in which students study and train the techniques and skills they need for their later education and career. Digitization also plays a major role in all subjects, as our students have to face this challenge as well. Moreover, there is the "transition management" at our school. This is an offer to our students to prepare them specifically and systematically for the transition to a profession within the framework of a deeper vocational orientation. With all these practical approaches and the digitization in an increasingly mixed society we expect that our students can successfully start their professional lives.
