First survey Internet use

Introduction

The first survey, to be answered by students of all grades, is about personal internet use, their own knowledge of various digital media and the importance and use of digital media in the classroom.

Evaluation

After the survey, this was evaluated. It should first be checked whether the survey was affordable for the students or whether corrections need to be made. In addition, the answers for each individual school were evaluated in order to provide the individual partners with information about their students' know-how. In addition, the individual schools were compared with each other to determine significant differences.

After gathering all results of the "questionnaire Internet use" in the responses sheet we analyze them for each school:

Conclusion of the evaluation

This survey showed that there are some significant differences between schools. Above all, this applies to the questions "What have you done on the computer?" and "Can you work on projects with others online?". The answers to the question "Can you create audio contributions, videos, photos, graphics and presentations?” differ significantly between the students of the individual schools, too. Given these, sometimes serious, differences between the German and Spanish schools, the question arises whether these differences have their origin in the use of digital media in the Spanish and German school system.

The evaluation of the statements in the survey also shows that the students of the Spanish schools are more positive about the use of computers than the German ones. In their opinion, the use of your computer promotes your own learning growth, collaboration between students and interest in lessons. This view is less clear among German students. These differences can be attributed to the fact that the Spanish schools have been working intensively with computers and tablets for several years and that the students were able to get used to using digital media and to adapt their learning behavior accordingly.

However, there are also many similarities between all schools in many different points such as finding information on the internet and sharing content that you have created yourself. In the area of fake news recognition there is no significant difference between the two Spanish schools and the Gustav Walle School, too. However, these matching areas largely affect the private use of computers in leisure time.

In summary, the survey shows clear differences in the development of students' digital skills. This can be explained by the different school systems, the different social framework conditions and the equipment of the schools. In addition, the objectives of these four schools differ in that the two German schools focus primarily on preparing their students for the vocational world while the two Spanish schools aim to get all of their students to obtain general higher education entrance qualification
