1st Students meeting. Les Borges Blanques.

The first students meeting of S.O.S. took place in Catalonia from the 14th to the 20th of November, divided in two parts: First students spent two nights in Barcelona and then arrived to les Obagues where they did several workshops.

Relevance for the project.

Our project is based on the methodology of Social Learning in combination with the use of ICT to enhance students' learning process and also to avoid early school leaving. Following these aims the meeting was divided in different workshops to let students go trough all the main topics. In groups of four students, one form each school, students did several activitites. Thinking also that each student has different abilities and skills we offered to them the possibility of identify themselves and to join the group/task that fullfilled more their expectations. It was a great point of the meeting.

Activities in Barcelona 14th and 15th of November

Starting with some socializing activities the students got to know each other and started creating the links to form relations that have become stronger and stronger day by day. During the prepared activities in Barcelona and Montserrat the students had to collect information about the town, the history and the famous sights to fulfil their tasks in Les Obagues.

Working sessions in Les Obagues 16th to 19th of November

During the four days in Les Obagues we followed the AGENDA.

Arriving day: The students did a common kahoot about Barcelona and Montserrat

First working day:

First the student got to know "What does Learning through engagement mean?"

"Learning through engagement" (LdE, English service learning) is a form of teaching and learning that combines social engagement of students with technical learning. Pupils are not involved in a detached manner or in addition to school, but in the context of teaching and closely linked to technical learning. The engagement is planned in the classroom, reflected and linked to the content of the education and curricula.

Later on the did some workshops to collect ideas for LdE and to think about how to do this in their own schools.

Second working day:

This day the students did several workshops with ICT tools that will be necessary for the following meetings and project activities. They created posters and flyers in canva, created QR-codes , learned how to work with e-twinning. They were taught how to record and edit interviews and zoom-in and zoom-out videos with kizoa. In the afternoon they started working at an e-book using the new tolls. In the evening they presented their recent results.

Third working day:

The students went on working at their special tasks for the e-book. Groups, which had finished their task started to create some posters for advertising S. O. S. in their countries. Others created a new logo for S. O. S. In the afternoon they presented their results. After dinner teachers and students did a reflection about the meeting. Every student took part at the final evaluation.
