We will be sharing short presentations with each other on Friday 10/31. We will have three class periods do to this: Fri 10/24, Mon 10/27, Wed 10/29. However, if that is not enough time, you may need to do some work outside of class. The rubric on which you will be graded is HERE.
The template link is in google classroom and also HERE. You will need to make a copy for your group and share it with the other members of your group.
The directions are on the first slide. Every slide has a heading of what should go on that slide; you should customize with fonts, images, etc. to fit your story and your group's preferred style.
*Remember, Sandy is out 10/22 (presenting in Boston). Phil will be with you.
This is for the 3rd and LAST chunk of your story. You need to finish the story by Wednesday and complete Notes #3.
Each person needs to complete their own notes. You can use the paper copy you received in class or you can complete it digitally.
These are due AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS so you can go right into discussion with your group. Be a reliable group member. There are only 3 of you, so everyone's thoughtful preparation and active participation matters.
This is for the 2nd chunk of your story.

By now you have had feedback from Sandy, discussion with peers, some in-class unpacking + analysis. Remember on the back of your Midterm Prompts is the Checklist (for formal writing) and the Literary Devices Cheat Sheet.
Please re-name your document with Final Draft so I know it's ready to be graded.
You will receive a short text and a prompt (explain how the author uses literary devices to show the theme).
You will only have the class period to write an analysis of short intro, body paragraphs, short conclusion.
I will give you a Checklist, literary devices Cheat Sheet, and the Rubric.
NOTICE + PREDICT: The story was published in 1894 and written by a woman. Think about the social-historical context for women at that time. This is considered by some to be one of the first works of feminist fiction.
NOTICE AND NOTE: Chopin's use of literary devices to convey the experience of her protagonist (Mrs. Mallard) and our theme. Annotate as you read.
USE the organizer to identify at least 6 devices and explain their effect.
Use a text we have read and analyzed together or a text you choose
You can USE THIS TEMPLATE to draft your essay (make a copy for yourself)
Be sure you look at the writing guidelines on the back of the Assignment sheet
Here is the grading RUBIC.
