Of the Weeks 

• Nerd: Nyx and Rowan S for writing uniquely courageous and truly insightful essays for Literary Genres. 

• Artist of the week: Moth for their ceramic work in Allyson’s class.

• Jock: The obstacle course walkers. 

• Community Member: The students who helped Maryann secure a grant towards school  environmental efforts. Those that went to the State House on Friday to protest against ICE violence. 

• Oracles: Jude S, Chris and Spencer for their helpful teaching of i ching.

• Youth Summit Feb 20-21

• Print shop: print items, live music, food

Math Comp

• Passers: Emry!

• Last regular comp -- see a teacher for preparation! 

Vday Bake Sale to raise money for prom

• Tuesday Feb 17th at lunch

• Bring treats! Homemade or store bought are great

• Bring money, $1-2 is plenty

• Seeking some volunteers - community service available

Admissions shadow day - Tues Feb 17th

• You can bring a friend, but they must RSVP

• Hosts needed for accepted students

Dum-dum sale this Thursday at lunch

• School One Family Association

• Lollipops - everyone gets one for free then sold 2/$2 or 6/$5 

• To share with friends (cash only)

• Fundraiser from prom

• College acceptances: Ibrahim and Elizabeth!

• H comp passers: Ella, Jordyn, Moth!

• April 10: final taking of H comp

  • Sign contract by Friday (Feb 20) specifying how you will prepare weekly with a teacher (including history help)

  • It’s up to you if you want to continue (and your family)

  • New folks: see Cary to continue taking the comp

• Feb 20 before 9AM - senior portfolios must be complete and perfected!! 

  • Last chance before you lose privileges of attending graduation

  • See advisor and Cary to have it checked ahead of time!

• Tri 3 add/drop is coming up next week

  • Sex Ed will be offered

  • See your advisor to make changes

• Graduation Board of Review - “a School One barmitzvah” 

  • Join the board: volunteers needed! 

  • Reply to Cary’s email, earn community service hours (more impressive hours than door knocking!)

• Speak to lawmakers about bills in RI

Spirit Week “thank you to the five people who participated”

• Send photos to yearbook

Microwave safety

• Metal does not belong in the microwave

• Thin plastics are not good 

• If you’re not sure, DON’T

• Use the paper plates from the office
