General Meeting Notes – October 13

Advising - Teacher Announcements and “Of the Weeks” for Tuesday, 10/13

“Of the Weeks:”

• Nerd(s): Emmie for being consistently several weeks ahead in her Joy Luck Club reading homework; Sorrel for her top Biology test score; 

• Community Member(s):  Doorknockers for Parents' Night?, Hayden for plant care in class menagerie + Jack lennon for community member in reaching out to their middle school teachers about S1 open house + open campus

• Artist(s):  Harrison for tongue sticking out mug

Teacher Announcements:

• PSATs are on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and students taking it, who are already signed up, must be at Slater by 8:30 a.m. at the latest.  We will do a check there with chromebooks during advising on Oct. 20 for the ten students taking the exam.

• URI is visiting during committee on Friday.  Interested juniors or sophomores should ask their committee teachers for permission to come to Legacy for the session.

• A few students have expressed interest in the RIEEA Youth Climate Conference on Saturday, Nov. 7th and Maryann will follow up to confirm–if you are interested but haven’t let her know, please do so today! See her or reply to her email.

• A reminder that Speculative Fiction class has a field trip and should be ready to leave at 12:15 today: meet by the office, and be advised the State House is a bit chilly, so dress warm!

• There are posters around the school for a Halloween/Fall themed art show!! Since there was no general meeting to announce it Maddie is extending the deadline to fill out the form by Thursday 4 pm, and bring in the work to Andy Warhol that you would like for the show by Monday 12:30 pm. If I have talked to you about your work already and it is already in my possession, please fill out the form anyway so I can make labels to go next to each piece.

Student Announcements:

• Theatre Club - Actors, please bring BINDERS tomorrow!

• SoC will be hosting their first Autumn potluck for the year this month! October 22nd during lunch at Slater, please bring good vibes and a dish! Sign up on the club board next to OZ or with an SoC member so that we can have you on the list!
