All class materials, assignments, and due dates will be available on Google Classroom. All work will be submitted and assessed through Google Classroom unless otherwise indicated. For general rules and expectations, including homework policies, see

Please note that all homework must be done in a timely manner. If work is not received at the time indicated, it will be considered late and the Four Strike Policy will apply.

HOMEWORK (due Monday 9/8): write a summary of your research project. Click this Google Classroom link for assignment and details.
Week 2 (Monday 9/8; Wednesday 9/10):
Refine/revise topic and summary
Confirmation of subject teacher to help
Instruction on research (credible sourcing), notecards and bibliography (web sources as well)

Review and refine first set of cards (checked by subject teacher)

HOMEWORK (due Monday 9/22): 40 notecards plus 4 bibliography cards (including previous cards)

Review and refine second second set of cards (checked by subject teacher)

Week 5 (Monday 9/29; Wednesday 10/1):
Review and refine third second set of cards (checked by subject teacher)
Outlining and structuring the paper
Instruction in Introduction writing and formatting (MLA or APA)
HOMEWORK (due Monday 10/6): Outline of Paper AND Introduction to the Paper
Weeks 6 & 7 (Monday 10/6; Wednesday 10/8; Wednesday 10/15):
Revise Introduction (checked by subject teacher)
Instruction in using evidence and citing in-text sources
Work on first 5 pages of paper (including introduction)
HOMEWORK (due Monday 10/20): first 5 pages of paper
Week 8 (Monday 10/20; Wednesday 10/22):
Revise first 5 pages of paper (checked by subject teacher)
Instruction in Conclusion Writing
Work on second 5 pages (or more as necessary, but 10 pages minimum)
HOMEWORK (due Monday 10/27): Second 5 pages of paper; Revision of first 5 pages of paper
Week 9 (Monday 10/27; Wednesday 10/29):
Revise second 5 pages of paper (checked by subject teacher)
Instruction in Works Cited or Bibliography page formatting
Work on Works Cited or Bibliography page
HOMEWORK (due Monday 11/3): full paper of at least 10 pages including revised first and second halves plus Works Cited or Bibliography (not included in 10 page count).
Week 10 (Monday 11/3; Wednesday 11/5):
Revise FULL paper (checked by subject teacher)
